Can I trust you and your insurance providers?

Protect Line was founded in 2010 and has since grown into one of the UK’s largest and leading life insurance brokerages, employing 250+ staff nationwide. Winning multiple consumer awards each year and receiving thousands of five star ratings on Trustpilot, Google and Smart Money People, Protect Line is a highly trusted company. We are fully authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, entered on the Financial Services Register (www.fca.org.uk/register) under reference 942467. We are also registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) to meet data protection standards and adhere to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) rules to ensure our advertising is always clear, fair and not misleading.

Our eleven insurance partners are industry leaders in life insurance, the majority of whom are household names, including Legal & General, Liverpool Victoria, HSBC and Aviva. Many of our insurers are hundreds of years old, with billions of pounds in annual revenue and employing tens of thousands of people. The insurers are all authorised and strictly regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, with multiple safe-guards in place to protect policyholders. All Protect Line’s insurance policies are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) that protects your insurance policy in the extremely unlikely case of your provider going bankrupt.

It is a common misconception that life insurance does not pay out, or will do their best to not pay. On the contrary, protection insurance has one of the highest pay out rates of any insurance type and in 2020 98% of claims were paid, the equivalent of £17 million every day (Association of British Insurers). Providing the policyholder told the truth at the time of application, there are not many exclusions which would prevent a successful life insurance pay out. Unlike other insurance where there can be ambiguity, with life insurance you’re either dead or you’re not.

All help centre articles are designed to help give generic information to UK consumers. Protect Line operates on a non-advised basis, so no help centre article should be considered as advice or an indication of the terms and conditions of your policy. Insurers also update their terms and conditions from time to time and while Protect Line endeavours to keep all information up to date, there is a chance the information on these pages may become outdated. All information is correct at the time of publication. To ensure you fully understand the terms and conditions of your policy please read all your documents and contact us for clarification if there is something you do not understand.
