Hi, how can we help?

Why do you need to know my medical history?

We need to know your medical history so that we can provide you with accurate quotes. Life insurance policies are priced and underwritten based on the answers you provide at the time of application, such as your age, weight, lifestyle and health.

It is important to be completely open and truthful when applying for life insurance. If you do not disclose any relevant details about your medical history, this could invalidate your cover and therefore would not pay out in the event of a claim.

In many cases your chosen insurer will take your answers at face value and will not ask for a doctors report. In some cases, and depending on how you answer certain questions in the life insurance application, you may be asked to undergo a medical exam.

We appreciate that it can be uncomfortable sharing private medical information, however the team at Protect Line are professionals who have been carefully trained in having these conversations to find the most suitable cover for you. We are highly regarded due to our understanding and treatment of customers, but don’t just take our word for it, please take time to read our many 5 star independent reviews across the internet.

All help centre articles are designed to help give generic information to UK consumers. Protect Line operates on a non-advised basis, so no help centre article should be considered as advice or an indication of the terms and conditions of your policy. Insurers also update their terms and conditions from time to time and while Protect Line endeavours to keep all information up to date, there is a chance the information on these pages may become outdated. All information is correct at the time of publication. To ensure you fully understand the terms and conditions of your policy please read all your documents and contact us for clarification if there is something you do not understand.
